Reviews By Alice: Avengers: Age of Ultron

As a Marvel movie nerd, I knew it was going to be brilliant. Let’s face it, all the Marvel films are pretty good with the perfect mix of humour and action embedded in the storyline.  We are reunited with some of our favourite avengers such as Thor, Captain America, the Hulk and Iron Man. As a sequel we see the Avengers strong development as a group, but also their weaknesses. Weaknesses such as Tony Stark (Iron Man) unleashing a peacekeeping program that has other intentions resulting in the destruction of the world. The introduction of twins Wanda Maximoff (Scarlet Witch) and Pietro Maximoff (Quicksilver) proves to give the Avengers a hard time in stopping them and Ultron.

An unlikely relationship between Natasha Romanoff (Black Widow) and Bruce Banner (Hulk) emerges, but is short lived when Bruce decides to go back into hiding. Both the ‘lesser’ avengers Clint Barton (Hawkeye) and Natasha are given more character development. We learn what Natasha went through to become a top assassin and the consequences of that; and we learn of Clint’s secret family, which was completely unexpected.

Age of Ultron is a very successful sequel to Avengers Assemble and is darker in some aspects, which I believe makes it appeal to a more mature audience. The first film looks more like a kids film, focusing on action and aliens, whereas Age of Ultron starts to bring together important elements towards the next instalment: The Infinity War.

Overall I thoroughly enjoyed the film and I had many nerdgasms in the battle scenes when the Avengers kicked Ultron butt. Also we got to see the perks of Chris Hemworth topless even if it looked like he was being electrocuted. The creation of the Vision confused me a little bit, but I just thought I should see where it goes and  the Vision becoming an Avenger is a very exciting direction. Ultron as a villain was very dispoble, but I think that he was created as the villain in order to spark the progression to the avengers civil war between the Captain and Tony Stark. Every Marvel fan would of seen this by now, but if your not sure whether to give it a try I suggest you do. The box office for Age of Ultron is soaring  and has yet to reach China. I can’t wait for the next couple of films including Captain America: Civil War which prompts the next Infinity War.
