Liverpool on Film

As the motorbike and sidecar owned by Hagrid from the Harry Potter film series goes on show at the Museum of Liverpool, Dr Jacqui Miller, Head of Media and Communication talks about the relationship between Liverpool and film, discussing the ways that Liverpool has been included on the screen and the impact of the industry on the city.

The bike was used as part of scenes in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows- part 1, in a scene filmed at the Birkenhead Queensway tunnel. Locations in Liverpool for the upcoming prequel, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them include the Cunard Building and St George’s Hall will be released in November 2016.

The exhibition Reel Stories: Liverpool and the Silver Screen runs until September 2017 at the Museum of Liverpool.
