The radio station serves the city of Liverpool, which has a long musical tradition. A tradition recognised by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) who conferred upon Liverpool the UNESCO status as a City of Music¬†http://citiesofmusic.net/city/liverpool/¬† Liverpool’s vibrant night life and musical industry offers students lots of opportunities to mix radio work with pleasure in their pursuit of creating original and exciting programming and producing stimulating content.

Of course, a great station serves all its community and at Hope we have every community under the sun, from niche societies such as the NERD society to students who have combined their academic courses in Politics, Drama, Sports, and Media (to name but four) with innovative radio shows that platform their academic and personal interests.

We of course cater for all communities and have a ‘patch work quilt’ approach, where we encourage each student to find his or her voice and grow into becoming a confident public communicator. No experience of presented is required to start your THIS radio presenting career, we have a developmental approach to training that will be discussed at your initial meeting.

We work with all sorts of students, from those who have never thought they would have the confidence to try presenting, to those who know it is a career for them and are building their CV and repertoire.

And if your talent lies in one of the less public facing activities listed above, we will train you and facilitate your development and expertise in each area of contribution to the station.

Wherever you find yourself, we have an opportunity for you to grow in a host of skills and have a great social time, mixing in a vibrant community and to develop your C.V.

Please come and say hello at the University Freshers Fair – Thursday, September 27th, 2018, at the Sports Centre (Hope Park – L16 9JD), starting at 10am – finishing at 3pm.
